Smithfield – Robert Glenn Pittman, age 78, passed away Monday November 2, 2020 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. He was born in Johnston County on March 3, 1942 to the late Arthur Milton Pittman and Minnie Pearl Parrish Pittman. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by brother, Harold Pittman; Sister, Jean Pittman. A funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home Thursday November 5, 2020 at 12 PM with Rev. Jerry Barbee officiating. The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home from 11 AM to 12 PM on Thursday. Burial will follow the service at Price Cemetery. Mr. Pittman is survived by wife of 50 years, Florence Benson Pittman; Sons, Chris Pittman of Smithfield, Royce Pittman of Georgia; Sisters, Doris Holloman, Betty Geraldine; 7 Grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews; Beloved dog, Cozzy. Mr. Pittman was a member at Pine Level Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a truck driver for 51 years and achieved driving 5 million miles accident free. Mr. Pittman began his trucking career as a teenager driving dump trucks, then driving trucks in the military. Mr. Pittman drove for Wal- Mart trucking his last 16 years in the business. He was also in the 1 ^st class of Vietnam Drill Sgt. Training, which he was selected for and prestigiously graduated and proudly served as a drill Sgt.
