Richard Harold Morgan, age 70, passed away Monday, December 30, 2024, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born, November 17, 1954, in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Hooper and Luna Morgan. Richard was a lifelong gemologist of 40 years. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed the simple things in life. Richard loved watching basketball, football, and hockey. He was a history lover and a music lover. Richard loved "The Beatles" and classic rock.

Richard is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jane Morgan of Dunn; sons, Robert Morgan (Wendy) of Four Oaks, David Morgan of Erwin; grandchildren, Austin, Rayleigh, Sarah, Gracie, Maddox, and Joshua; stepson, Jesse Ray Lee; sister, Glenda Oliver (Stan) of Groveland, Florida; niece, Susan Hatcher and family; lifelong best friend who was more like a brother, Curt Phillips of Smithfield; and many cousins.
