Selma – Richard Lewis Conklin III, age 31, passed away July 25, 2021 at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh. He was born in Johnston County on April 18, 1990. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Conklin Jr.

A graveside service will take place in Branch Chapel Church Cemetery at 11 AM on Wednesday July 28, 2021 with Rev. Eric Narron officiating.

Mr. Conklin is survived by mother, Susan Olive Jernigan and husband Tony of Selma; sisters, Victoria Johnson and husband Burke of Selma, Julia Turnage and husband Christopher of Selma; grandparents, Jimmy and Carolyn Sue Barbour of Selma; great grandmother, Nola Olive; step brother, James Jernigan and wife Taylor of Wake Forest, Anthony Jernigan of Smithfield; half-sister, Savannah Conklin; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Mr. Conklin was a member at Branch Chapel Church. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Branch Chapel FWB Church 7438 NC-96 N, Selma, NC 27576.
