Ralph Nestus “Ned” Holloman, age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC.

Born May 7, 1946, in Johnston County, NC, Ned was the son of the late William and Lola Mae Holloman. He was preceded in death by his first wife, JoAnn Little Holloman; brothers, Sam Holloman, Jerry Holloman, and Joseph Holloman; and sister, Barbara Beasley.

Ned was a faithful member of Hephzibah Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. He was also a faithful member of Crumpler’s Crossroads Church, where he continued serving until the time of his passing.

Ned loved farming and tractors and took great joy in gardening. Above all, he loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Ned is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Holloman; son, Neal Holloman and wife, Beverly; daughter, Cynthia Holloman and special friend, Chris Takoch; grandchildren, Justin Jackson, Cameron Jackson, Tyler Jackson, and Blake Holloman; great-grandchildren, Carley Bradley, Kennedy Bradley, Jack Jackson, and Cohen Jackson; brothers, Jimmy Holloman and Mike Holloman; sister, Loretta Myers; and stepsons, Richard Barbee, Matt Barbee, Keith Barbee, and Terry Barbee.

Ned will be remembered for his faithful service, his love of farming and the simple joys of life, and most of all, his deep love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
