Selma – Phyllis Kay Howell, age 51, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025 at UNC Chapel Hill. Born, March 25, 1973, in Johnston County, she was the daughter of Linda Kay Pearce and the late Phillip Wayne Howell, Sr. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Minnie Sasser Hines. Phyllis loved plants. She also enjoyed cooking and worked in the food industry most of her life. She loved music and singing and dancing. Phyllis loved the color purple and coffee. She always said her greatest accomplishment in life was her children.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on February 6, 2025, in the chapel at Parrish Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Price Cemetery in Selma.

Phyllis is survived by her fiancée, Angel Alviso; son, Angel Lewis Alviso; daughter, Jessica Alviso; brothers, Stephen Brent Howell of Augusta, GA, Phillip Wayne Howell, Jr. of Kenly; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
