Peter Dennis Kenefick, Sr., 89, of Clayton, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

Born on May 23, 1937, in New Haven County, Connecticut, Peter was a son of the late John Henry Kenefick and Ellen Gertrude Hourigan Kenefick.

Peter dedicated 36 years of service as a Utility Specialist with Northeast Utilities. He was a proud member of the BPOE Elks and St. John’s Catholic Church of Old Saybrook, Connecticut.

Peter will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Nancy Dean Kenefick; his sons, Peter Dennis Kenefick, Jr. and Scott Robert Kenefick; his daughter, Ellen Marie Duran; grandchildren; Jason Duran, Alexander Kenefick, Julia Kenefick, Scott Ishmael Kenefick, Deidra Cooper Kenefick; great children; Charlee Rae Duran and Codee Jason Duran. He was predeceased by his brothers; Richard William Kenefick and John Henry Kenefick; his sisters, Beverly Spellacy, Catherine Harville, and Mary Pike, and grandchild Peter Dennis Kenefick III.
