Peggy Ann Worley Woodard, age 78, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at her home in Kennels Beach. Born April 14, 1944 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Walter Angus and Tempie Ann Tyner Worley. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brittany Woodard; brother, Tommy Worley and wife Ethel; sisters, Maude Creech, Arlene Hines and husband Carl, Etta Atwood and husband Tom; and brother-in-law, Harold Pennell. Peggy was a faithful member of Rains Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir. Peggy was known for her gentle and submissive spirit. She was prayerful and served her Lord daily. Peggy loved and was loved by everyone she met. Peggy's greatest joy in life was her family. She always made sure everyone in her family was fed and happy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Rains Crossroads FWB Church in Kenly with Rev. Johnny Sullivan and Rev. Al Warrick officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:45 p.m. Tuesday evening in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Rains Crossroads FWB Church Cemetery.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Eddie Maxton Woodard; sons, Tim Woodard and wife Joy of Princeton and Andy Woodard and fiancée Terrie Boyette of Kennels Beach; sister, Jean Pennell of Brogden; grandchildren, Maggie Wood and husband Andy, Ryne Woodard, Spencer Woodard and Fisher Boyette; and great grandchildren, Allison Woodard and Maverick Wood.
