Smithfield – Peggy Sherline Holloman Thompson, age 79, died Thursday, April 13, 2017 in Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Born October 9, 1937 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late George and Myrtie Howell Holloman. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Marshall Holloman and Buck Holloman; and sisters, Venita Stallings and Marguerite Alley. Peggy was a member of Steven's Chapel Baptist Church in Smithfield.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday just prior to the service. A private family burial will be held in Thompson Cemetery.

Surviving are her husband, Charles Thompson of the home; son, Terry Glenn Thompson of Smithfield; grandson,  Dustin Thompson and wife Meredith; great granddaughter, Lily Anna Thompson; brothers, Russell Holloman, Larry Holloman, and Bernice Ray Holloman; and sisters, Myrtle Sauls, Mary Sullivan, Linda Edwards, and Sue Snodgrass.
