Pine Level – Pearl Mae Todd Coats, age 91, passed on Monday September 14, 2026 at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh. She was born in Nash County on August 23, 1935 to the late James McCoy Todd and Iola Mae Kennedy Todd. In addition to her father and mother, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Donnie Davis Jr, second husband of 16 years, Rev. C.M. Coats; brother, James Todd; sister, Gloria Jean Byrd.

The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Friday September 18, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12 noon. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at noon with Rev. Dennis Pollock and Blake Martin officiating. Burial will follow the service in Oakland Cemetery in Smithfield.

Pearl had a talent and love for singing. She sang regularly on WTSB’s church programs. She also enjoyed fishing in her younger years and going to Parker’s in Wilson weekly for meals.
