Selma – Patricia Lynn Strickland Creech, age 75, passed away Wednesday September 16, 2026 at Smithfield Manor Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born in Johnston County on April 3, 1951 to the late James Edward Strickland and Dorothy Sullivan Strickland. In addition to her father and mother, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Chester “Bryant” Creech III.

The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Monday September 21, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service will follow the visitation on Monday at 3:00 PM. Burial will be held in Crocker Cemetery Pine Level.

The family will be receiving visitors at the home Pats sister, Carol Green.

She is survived by her daughters, Kelly Moore and husband CJ of Wilson, Nichole Wooten and husband Cory of Clayton; grandchildren, Dylan Phillips and wife Hailey, Kelsi Phillips, Kaylee Phillips, Nate Davis, Raelynn Davis; great grandchildren, Maisyn, Bentley, Maddox; siblings, Sandra Edwards, Carol Green and Jimi Strickland and wife Stacy; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat graduated from North Johnston High School in 1969. She then completed schooling at Mitchell’s Hair Styling in Wilson. She owned and operated her own salon in Smithfield before becoming a stay-at-home mom to her two girls, along with assisting with her husband’s business. Later, she spent 30 plus years in child care serving numerous families throughout Johnston County.

Pat loved her family above all and they were her pride and joy, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed many special outings with her sisters, sharing jokes with her brother, and looked forward to family gatherings.

She had a unique personality and loved to laugh. She loved to meet new people and had a way of connecting to everyone she met. To know her, truly was to love her.

Pat loved her husband Bryant dearly and the family takes comfort in knowing that they are reunited at last.

The family wishes to express their heart felt gratitude to Autumn Home Care and their staff for the care provided to Pat during her time there.
