September 10, 1930 – February 11, 2026
Nola Green Olive, age 95, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born September 10, 1930 in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late Elton Young and Bertha Parrish Green.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Olive; sons, James Eli Olive, Sam Olive, Julian Olive, and Richard "Jody" Olive, Jr.; daughter, Bertha Mae Olive; brothers, James Green, Alonza Green, and Elton Green, Jr.; sister, Annie Barbour (Robert) and great-grandchild, Richard.
Nola was a proud Republican and a faithful member of the Primitive Baptist Church. For more than 50 years her and Richard owned and operated Olive Farm Supply. She was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to high school basketball. She deeply loved her family, stood up for the underdog, and was actively involved in the rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in Olive Family Cemetery.
Surviving are her sons, Johnny F. Olive and wife Carolyn of Stoney Point; Vernon W. Olive and wife Cathy of Clayton; and Joel B. Olive and wife Shelly of Clayton; grandchildren, Susan Jernigan (Tony), Melissa Charest (Rob), Jenna Olive (Ryan), Eli Olive, Katie Olive, Jacob Olive, Josh Olive, Sarah Olive, Rachel Olive, Daniel Olive, and Hailey Olive; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Julia, Robert John, Sam, Alice, Anthony, and James; great-great-grandchildren, Caroline, Charlotte, Preston, and Eli.
Nola is also survived by her brothers, Tom Green (Isa), Phil Green (Sandy), Steve Green (Jill), Larry Green (Dianne), and Mike Green (Beverly); and sisters, and Carolyn Whitley (Charles).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to SECU Hospice House, 426 Hospital Road, Smithfield, NC 27577.
