Neil Liles, age 47, of Smithfield passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at WakeMed in Raleigh.  Born November 2, 1977 in Johnston County, NC, he was the son of the late Ricky Liles and Venita Hamilton.  Neil was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Liles; sister, Jennifer Liles; uncles, Donnie Liles, Ricky Liles, Ashley Liles and Leon Hamilton; paternal grandparents Mallie and Dorothy Liles and maternal grandfather, Chester Hamilton.

He was a graduate of Smithfield-Selma Senior High School and worked as a professional flooring installer.  He loved children, animals and helping people in any way needed.  He had a generous nature and loved the gift of giving to others.  As an organ donor, Neil gave the ultimate gift of life to others.

Surviving are his son, Matthew Liles; daughter, Katie Lynn Liles; brother, Brad Kepler and wife Melanie; maternal grandparents, Myrtle and Tom Toole; aunts, Ginger Lee, Zena Hamilton Rose, Diane Colville, Beth Hamilton and Joyce Owens; uncles, Jeffery Hamilton, Bobby Owens, Elsworth Lee, Frankie Colville as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Sunday June 8, 2025 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home.
