Micro – Nancy Edwards Hinton, age 85, passed away Thursday July 24, 2025 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. She was born in Johnston County on April 30, 1940 to the late Joseph Edwards and Eva Creech Edwards. In addition to her father and mother, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Gene Hinton and brother, Donnie Edwards.

Nancy worked at Data General for several years as a Planning Assistant in the Production Department.

The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Sunday July 27, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held following the visitation on Sunday at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow immediately at Holly Springs Church Cemetery.

Nancy is survived by her son, Steve Hinton and wife Lu Ann of Saratoga; grandson, Chris Hinton of Micro; sisters, La Rue Hull (Don) of Micro, Ann Petit (Larry) of Clayton; brother, Frankie Edwards (Gray) of Swansboro; many nieces and nephews.
