Smithfield -Miriam Lassiter Lore, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday September 9, 2022. She was born in Johnston County on September 3, 1931 to the late Melvin Lassiter and Ester Strickland Lassiter. In addition to her mother and father, she is also preceded in death by husband, Edwin Payne Lore Jr. and sister, Priscilla Lassiter.

A graveside service will be held in Sunset Memorial Park on Monday September 12, 2022 at 2 PM with Rev. Troy Lescher -Thomas officiating.

Mrs. Lore is survived by sons, Edwin Lore of Surf City and wife Teresa of Smithfield, Stephen Lore and wife Kay of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Caroline Hurley and husband Matt, Garrison Lore, Steve Lore and wife Megan, William Lore.

Mrs. Lore was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Smithfield for over 60 years.
