November 20, 1929 – February 21, 2024
Pine Level – Mildred Elaine Holt Hadnott, age 94, passed away peacefully Wednesday February 21, 2024 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. She was born in Johnston County on November 20, 1929 to the late William Millard Holt and Kizzie Lee Holt. In addition to her father and mother, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Fletcher Hadnott; daughter, Lee Ann Hadnott; brothers, Banks Holt, Robert Holt, John Holt and James Holt; sisters, Thelma Vest, Ada Marshall, infant sister Sara Holt.
A celebration of life will be held on March 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Level First UMC.
She is survived by her niece, Sheila Campbell (Richard) of Farmville; nephews, James "Jimmy" Cashus Holt Jr., of Princeton; special friend and care giver, Patty Addison; sister, Mary Batten of Ft Collins, CO; several nieces and nephews.
Mildred was a school teacher in Florida most of her working life and retired to North Carolina afterwards. She was a member of Pine Level UMC and loved to sing in the choir. In addition to her church, she was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Red Hat Society, and loved to play bridge.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Smithfield Manor Nursing and Rehab and SECU Hospice House for the care they provided Mildred with.
