Selma – Merlon Bowen, age 85, passed away peacefully Thursday February 15, 2024 at his home. He was born in Johnston county on August 31, 1938 to the late Raymond Franklin Bowen and Sadie Hales Bowen. In addition to his father and mother, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie Godwin Bowen.

A graveside service will be held in Selma Memorial Gardens on Monday February 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM.

He is survived by son, Charles Bowen and wife Rebecca of Selma; daughters, Cathy Fitzgerald and fiancé Roy Horne of Warsaw, Frances Pilkington of Selma; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Mr. Bowen was an avid outdoors-man and loved to hunt, fish and work in his garden.
