Mavan Luther (Bill) Stallings, 86, passed away peacefully on April 24th surrounded by his family. Born in Cabarrus County on July 2nd, 1937, to the late Roy Lee Robert and Elsie Belle Whitley Stallings. Bill is a US Navy Veteran. Bill worked with the Smithfield Police Department for several years. He worked for Smithfield Ford in sales for more than 30 years. Bill and Ollie Johnson Stallings have been married for 34 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Bill was a member of the Antioch Presbyterian Church of Goldsboro.

Bill is preceded in death by daughters, Lynn Stallings and Debbie Drye; stepdaughter, Cindy Rose. He is survived by his wife; sisters, Betty Wallace, Linda Casper, Nancy Honeycutt, Kay Sells and Cathy Hudson; brother, R.L. Stallings; stepsons Terry Barbour (Faith) of Atlantic Beach, NC, Chris Barbour (Karen) of Elizabethtown, NC, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; stepdaughter, Kathy Edwards (Chris); grandchildren, Mack Drye and Jed Drye; step-grandchildren, Kyle Edwards, Cameron Edwards, and Joshua Strickland.

Funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, April 28th, Parrish Funeral Home, Selma NC. Visitation at 2:00 PM, Memorial Service at 3:00 PM, followed by burial, with military honors, at Hills of Neuse Memorial Gardens, Smithfield NC.  The Reverend Kelly Buffaloe will officiate the service.  Memorial contributions can be made to Antioch Presbyterian Church, 2306 Old Smithfield Road, Goldsboro NC 27530.
