Selma – Mary Jane Pryor, age 84, passed away Sunday May 30, 2021 at her home in Smithfield. She was born in Guilford County on August 25, 1936 to the late Coleman and Alma Garner McDowell. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by husband, Rev. Jerry Pryor; brother, Dale McDowell; sisters, Kemper Neighbors, Louise Lee; great granddaughter, Aaliyah Parker. A funeral service will be conducted at New Life Baptist Church in Wilsons Mills on Saturday June 5, 2021 at 11 AM. The family will receive visitors at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. A graveside service will follow at 3 PM in Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point, NC. Mrs. Pryor is survived by step daughters, Sherrie Pryor and husband Thomas Wooden of Zebulon, Tonia Braswell and husband Archie of Zebulon; brother, Jack McDowell; sister, Judie Cain; grandchildren, Brittany and Justin Braswell; great grandchildren, Paisley Braswell, Jeffrey Braswell, Opal Braswell, Vallerie Parker, Harland Braswell; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pryor was a member at New Life Baptist Church and enjoyed bowling and skating in her spare time. She worked for many years as a church secretary and also as a CNA at Classic Home Care in Smithfield.
