Zebulon – Mary Lavern Exum, age 61, passed away Wednesday March 13, 2024 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. She was born in Johnston County on September 23, 1962 to the late Rayford Jones and Mary Creech. In addition to her father and mother, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Exum; brother, Bill Jones.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Exum of Zebulon; sisters, Angela Daughtry and husband Randy of Selma, Sharon Sinquefield of Selma, Lessie Kelly of Kenly; brothers, James Kelly and wife Kelly of Princeton, Andy Kelly and wife Leigh Ann of Princeton; granddaughter, Katelynn Crocker.
