Selma – Martha Bunn Parrish, age 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in the SECU Hospice House of Smithfield. Born, August 7, 1938, in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late Joe D. Bunn and Alma Creech Bunn. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Parrish, brother, C.D. Bunn, step-mother, Nerie Morris Bunn, and an infant sister.  Martha retired from Burlington Mills Industries in January of 1999, from the Human Resources Department after 32 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with the burial to follow in Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Stancil (Ken) of Kenly, son, Brent Parrish (Lee Ann) of Selma, brother, Larry Bunn (Pamela) of Carolina Shores, granddaughter, Cheyenne P. Atkinson (Josh) grandson, Cody Parrish (Lauren Shoemaker), grandson Wesley Stancil (Michelle), great-grandsons; Nick, Noah, and Timothy Stancil of Selma.
