Martha “Marie” Starling Honeycutt, age 85, passed away late Saturday night, May 23, 2026.

Marie was the youngest daughter of the late Jesse Jasper & Josephine Radford Starling born on April 2, 1941, in Johnston County. She was married to the late Allen Lewis Honeycutt, Jr., for 52 years. Marie is survived by her sons, James Allen Honeycutt and wife Sandy of Middlesex, Jeffrey Lynn Honeycutt and wife Candy of Selma, Joey Lewis Honeycutt and wife Sandra of Selma; granddaughters, Dana Houston and husband Brandon of Middlesex, Jennifer Slabaugh and husband Phil of Archer Lodge, Denise Penny and husband Gennings, and Kadie Barbour and husband Perry, both of Selma; eight great grandchildren; sister Ruth Woodall and brother Eugene Starling. 

In addition to her husband and parents, Marie is preceded in death by her brothers Elnora, Edward, Thurman, Keith, and Kenneth, as well as sisters Annie, Nannie, and Alma. 

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Branch Chapel FWB Church with burial immediately following in the church cemetery.
