Kenly – Marjorie Phillips Luper, age 80, passed away peacefully Saturday June 3, 2023 at Smithfield Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Johnston County on November 30, 1942 to the late Ransom Phillips and Annabelle Parnell Phillips. In addition to her father and mother, she is also preceded in death by husband, William "Bill" Luper; son, David Luper; sister, Molly Baker.

The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Wednesday June 7, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Wednesday at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow the service in Pilkington cemetery in Pine Level.

Marjorie is survived by son, Billy Luper and wife Kathy of Kenly; brothers, Bobby Phillips, Jimmy Phillips and Randy Phillips; sisters, Becky Heath, Barbara Corbett, Pat Hinnant and Kay Toler; grandchildren, Kathryn Luper, Will Luper, Kimberly Barnett, Stephanie Thomas; great grandchildren, Zoey Luper, Kora Hansrote, Jocelyn Luper, Cameron Luper, Marilyn Luper, EmmaLeigh Barnett, Elijah Barnett, Christian Warren, Ariah Warren and Katana Champion; daughter in law, Donna Luper.

Marjorie was a member at Kenly Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed to travel, shop, craft and look after children, which she did for many years operating her day care.
