Margaret Lassiter Wallace, age 87, of Smithfield, passed away on September 13, 2019.  Born in Pitt County on April 28, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Donald and Margaret Bullock Lassiter.  She was married to the late Thomas Edward Wallace, Jr. and was also preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Lassiter, Jr. and a grandson, Jody Parrish.  Mrs. Wallace was a longtime member of Centenary United Methodist Church.  She worked with the NC House of Representatives before becoming the Director of the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium at Johnston Community College from 1990 – 1996.

The family will receive friends in Wesley Hall at Centenary United Methodist Church on Sunday from 2:30 – 3:15 followed by a memorial service at 3:30 pm.  Reverend William Holliday and Reverend Meagan Matthews will officiate.  A private graveside will be held at Sunset Memorial Park.

Surviving are her son, Donald Wallace and wife Larkin of Smithfield; daughter Margie Parrish Holder of Washington; sister Ann Cain of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren Molly Moore and husband Robbie, Banks Wallace and wife Kaitlyn; and great grandchildren Carson Moore, Anna Reid Moore, Ross Moore, Blakely Wallace and Finch Wallace.
