Lynda Hardee Parrish, age 75, of Smithfield, passed away on June 15, 2022.  Born in Johnston County on January 30, 1947, she was the daughter of the late David Lyndon Hardee and Louella Lassiter Hardee Thompson.  In addition to her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by her husband Barney "Perk" Parrish, infant daughter Gladys Luann Parrish, step-father Grover Thompson and sister Kymberly Croxton.

Surviving are her children, Crystal Lynn Cook Boykin of Smithfield, Terry Michael Cook and wife Kimberly of Springfield, GA; grandchildren, Corey M. Cook (Kim), James M. Cook (Chelsea), Jerry Messer (Kristie), Heather Luann Keith (Patrick), Chelsea Peacock (Austin), Geneva Logan Lee, Patience Braswell (Travis), Michaela Grace Cook (Tyler), Kahlyn Cook, and Lily Cook; thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; brother David Hardee (Sara) of Hickory, sisters Sarah Hardee Moore of Rockledge, FL and Sharon Hardee Hobgood of Viera, FL; sisters of my heart Hilda Allen (Larry) of Four Oaks, Joan Jones of Selma; children of my heart Phil Massengill (Deanna), Johnny Byrd (Lynette), Wanda Johnson (Donnie) and Fara Thomas (Wayne).

The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home on Sunday, June 19 ^th , from 1-2 pm followed by a funeral service at 2 pm.  Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Church Cemetery near Four Oaks.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the SIDS Foundation or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
