Smithfield- Lonnie Junior Deans, 68, passed away on September 10, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by his family after an extended illness. Born June 11, 1956 in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Lossie Deans, Jesse Earl Eason, and Frances Strickland. He was preceded in death by his sisters; Diane McCabe, Rebecca (Becky) Deans, brothers; Robert Lee and wife Brenda Deans, Ronnie Whittington, Linwood Massey, and his beloved cat; Pandora.
Junior was a loving Husband, devoted Daddy, Pa, and Brother. He worked for JCI for over twenty years and truly enjoyed working with his clients. He was a hard worker who always fought to better himself to provide for his family. He never had a hard word for anyone. Junior was known as practical joker and known for "a smile and a joke." He enjoyed woodworking, fishing with his brothers, and spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 16, 2024, at 2:00PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, from 1:00pm-2:00pm. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Smithfield.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 31 years, Donna Eason Deans; children, Tori Parrish (Chris), Amber Deans (Dwight), Ashley Deans (Chrissy), and Robert Strickland; brothers, Melvin Deans (Betty), John Deans, and Kenneth Eason (JoAnn); sisters, Edna Pearl Deans, Brenda Deans Massey, and Diane Renfrow (Rick); grandchildren, Anthony Parrish (Kenzi), Madison Rhodes (Aaron), Kendra Rae Parrish, and Jaxson Jones. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, his ex-wife (and mother of Tori, Amber, and Ashley) Linda Deans Blackmon, and his beloved cat, Boots.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, staff, and First Responders, for their care and compassion during his extended illness.
