Raleigh- Lola Mae Moye Moore, age 78, passed away on Monday, November 14, at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh. Born in Johnston County on July 28, 1944, she was a daughter to the late Roy Ray Moye and Estelle Batten Moye.

Lola was a retired accountant and bookeeper from Statewide Roofing in Wilson, NC. She was known as a feisty spirit with a good sense of humor. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, watching tv and cooking shows, animals, and gardening. Lola was a very selfless person who loved her kids and grandchildren dearly. She always had their backs and was a very proud and caring mother and grandmother.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, at Parrish Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. just before the service.

Surviving are her sons, Steve Phillips of Raleigh and wife Anna of St. Petersburg, Russia; Dennis Phillips and partner David Moore of Garner, NC; daughter, Jennifer Gardner of Smithfield, NC; brother, Roy Ray Moye Jr of Conway, SC; sisters, Alice Worley of Princeton, NC; Phyliss Batten of Smithfield, NC; gradchildren, Elizabeth McAlister of Norfolk, VA; Zachary Gurganus of Smithfield, NC; and Dean Gurganus of Smithfield, NC.
