Linda Lou Rollins Massengill, age 73, of Smithfield, passed away on August 18, 2019.  Born in Wayne County on July 5, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Ed Rastus and Clyda Deans Rollins.  She was also preceded in death by her foster dad Ethan "Red" Strickland, brothers Joseph Linwood Rollins, Bill Mack Rollins, James "Sam" Rollins and 12 step brothers and sisters.  Linda was retired from the Johnston County School System and was a member of Juniper Primitive Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma on Wednesday from 6 – 8 pm and at other times at 41 Dail Street in Smithfield.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Juniper Church Cemetery near Four Oaks.

Surviving are her husband, Larry James Massengill; sons Larry Eugene Massengill of Smithfield and James Rodney Massengill and wife Sandy Marburger of West Chester, PA; daughter Denise Massengill Jernigan of Benson; brother Jimmy Rollins of Kenly; sisters Della Lee of Fayetteville and Emma Johnson of Smithfield; grandchildren Joshua and Julia Massengill, Hailee and Brysan Jernigan; brother-in-law Dennis R. Massengill and sister-in-law Joyce Rinehart.
