Lena Mae Hamilton

Lena Mae Wall Hamilton, 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Smithfield on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Born on July 25, 1946, in Johnston County, Lena was the daughter of the late Edward and Ada Mae Wall. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Linwood Hamilton.

Lena dedicated over three decades of her life to her career, retiring after 31 years with Purolator. Following her retirement, she found her greatest joy in caring for her family, especially her grandchildren, to whom she devoted much of her time and love. She was also a devoted caregiver to her husband during the last six years of his life, exemplifying compassion and strength.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Barry Hamilton and his wife, Kristy; her grandchildren, Chase Hamilton and his wife, Ariel, Brooke Hamilton, Jackson Adams, and Taylor Adams; and her sisters, Louise Tucker, Patsy Vann, and Betty Lou Wells.

Lena will be remembered for her deep love of family, her selfless spirit, and the care she gave so freely to those around her.

The family will receive visitors and honor the life of Lena on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the home of her son, Barry Hamilton, 62 French Drive, Selma, NC.
