Smithfield, NC---La Rue Rose Hill Edwards passed away on October 26, 2023.

A visitation will be at Parrish Funeral Home, 1351 South Pollock St., Selma, NC 27576 on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 6 PM until 8 PM. Burial will be private.

La Rue Rose Hill was born on May 5, 1932. She was raised in Smithfield, NC and after graduation from Smithfield High School she attended Greensboro College where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 3 ½ years. She spent the next 40 years as a teacher. Her greatest pleasure of her teaching career was working with special needs students.

After retirement, Rosie enjoyed her family and friends. She was always surrounded by close friends who enjoyed her wicked sense of humor.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, Ruffin and Alma Hill, her brother, Keith Hill, and her son-in-law Wayne Davis. She is survived by her daughters, Bridgitte Edwards Davis and Melrose Edwards Haas. She has one grandson, Hunter Wayne Davis.
