Smithfield – Kenneth Charles Phillips, age 72, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, in his home of Smithfield. Born, October 9, 1951, in Portsmouth, VA, he was a son of the late Charles Elton Phillips and Emaline Creech Phillips. During his spare time Kenneth enjoyed spending time on the golf course and taking trips to Topsail beach with his family. He enjoyed playing Backgammon and cards with Janet. He also enjoyed his daily paper and a good cup of coffee. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Chase Phillips (Giovanna) of Wendell, brothers, Rod Phillips (Elaine) of Edenton, Doug Phillips (Sandra) of Clayton, sister, Pat Kornegay Wilson (Alex) of Smithfield, grandchildren, Isaac and Jordan Phillips as well as eight nephews and many friends.
