Kenneth Duane Evans, age 62, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Born June 20, 1963, in Wayne County, Kenneth was the son of the late Elton Evans and Sylvia Joann Evans. He was a faithful member of Tee's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

Kenneth enjoyed fishing, spending time on his boat, and relaxing at the beach. He dedicated 20 years of service to the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles as a driver's license examiner. He later worked for Johnston County for 10 years before retiring.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Tee's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 38 years, Tammy Evans; daughters, Stephanie Evans Souder and husband Aaron, and Emily Evans Brown and husband Forrest; grandson, Reece Souder; mother and father-in-law, Billy and Evelyn Norris; brothers, Dennis Evans and wife Jeannie, Michael Evans, and Brian Evans and wife Heather; sisters, Ginger Feldpausch and husband Dale, and Kelly Evans; brothers-in-law, Frankie Norris and wife Susan, and Chris Norris and wife Candy; along with many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
