Four Oaks – Charles "Keith" Peedin, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, surrounded by family and friends.

Born on June 6, 1946, in Johnston County, Keith was the son of the late Merlin and Maude Peedin. Keith was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Nell Peedin, a brother, Danny Ray Peedin, and wife, Lois Peedin. A lifelong resident of Johnston County, he graduated from Princeton High School and continued his education at Atlantic Christian College. He later earned a Master's Degree from Central Michigan University and became a Certified Public Accountant.

Keith began his own CPA practice, C. Keith Peedin, CPA, in Smithfield in March, 1979. He was deeply committed to his profession and his community.

Keith was a dedicated member of the Smithfield Lions Club, where he received the organization's highest honor, the Melvin Jones Award. He served as District Governor in 2004 and held the roles of Secretary and Treasurer for the North Carolina Lions Foundation. He was also honored with the Paul Harris Fellow Award from the Smithfield Rotary Club.

A devoted son, husband, brother, father, and grandfather, Keith was also a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Four Oaks, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery in Princeton.

Keith is survived by his loving wife, Jana Peedin; his children: Sherry Davis (David), Ryan Peedin (Leigh-Ann), and Lance Peedin (Joy); Brent Underwood (Sarah) and John Underwood; grandchildren: Megan Faulkner (Zach), Justin Davis (Sarah), Anna Peedin, Olivia Peedin, Ryan Strickland, Rachel Sims (Jacob), Christian Carcione, Chandler Peedin, Chancetian Peedin, Caitlin Underwood, and Whitney Underwood; siblings: M.A. Peedin, Jr. (Carolyn), Kathy Gurley, and Linda Grey Peedin.

Keith's legacy of service, integrity, and love for his family will continue to inspire all who knew him.
