Judy Francis Duncan, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at her home in Smithfield. Born February 24, 1946, in Four Oaks, she was the daughter of the late William Ashley Blackmon and Vira Turnage Blackmon. In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Braxton Carter Duncan. 

Judy spent her 30+ year career in various roles with First Citizens Bank in Smithfield. She was a lifelong member of Lee's Chapel Advent Christian Church in Four Oaks. Judy was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to everyone. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 2:00pm, at Lee's Chapel Advent Christian Church. The family will receive visitors before the service, beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Lee's Chapel Advent Christian Church.

Judy is survived by her sons, Ken C. Ashby and his wife Ann of Raleigh, and Kevin J. Ashby and his wife Julie of Pine Level. 

The family would like to thank everyone who touched Judy's life. Her sense of humor, laugh, and kindness will be missed.
