Joseph Edison Rollins, age 84, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023 at his home in Selma. Born April 9, 1939 in Johnston County he was a son of the late James Avery and Wilma Mae Futch Rollins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Teresa Rollins; brother, Scotty Rollins; and sister, Brenda Porter. Joseph was a graduate of Pine Level High School class of 1958. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served his country for 21 years active duty, and then 23 years in Air Force Civil Service.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. A graveside service, with military honors, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023 in Eastern Carolina Veteran's Cemetery in Goldsboro.

Surviving are his children, Cynthia McInnis and husband Stan of Selma, NC, Teresa Starlin of Selma, NC,  Olga Shewmaker of O'Fallon, MO and Timothy Rollins and wife Carol of Durham; grandchildren, Charles McInnis and wife Michelle, Amy McInnis Johnson and husband TJ, Jennifer McInnis and partner Frank, Stephanie Heath Thompson, Victoria Heath and partner Stephen Coleman, Brittany Crothers Holbrook and husband Andrew, David Shewmaker and wife Elaina, Joseph Rollins, Haley Rollins Williams and husband Clark, Maria Johnson and husband Joe, Mark Shewmaker and wife Wendy and Stephanie Shewmaker and partner Larry Mendoza; twenty three great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
