Smithfield – Joseph Harold Adams, age 76, passed away unexpectantly on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, in his home of Smithfield. Born, September 1, 1945, in Johnston County he was a son of the late Joseph Carlton and Violet Adams. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Adams and his brother, Earl Ray Adams.

Joseph was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed working and continued to work after his retirement from Wake County Public School System. He also enjoyed spending time going to singings with his fiancée Linda and visiting the NC mountains. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 11, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Reverend Jimmy Lambert will officiate the service with the burial to follow in Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield.

He is survived by his son, Gregory and wife Nicole of Sharon, WV; grandsons, Aaron and Avery Adams of Sharon, WV; sisters, Bonnie Godwin of Selma, Sue Jones of Four Oaks and fiancée Linda Layton of Dunn.
