Selma – John Caetano Neves Jr., age 83, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, in UNC Johnston Health Hospital of Smithfield. Born, September 25, 1940, in San Diego, CA, to the late John C. Neves and Lena Brown Neves. John was a kind and caring person. He enjoyed working on small engines and tinkering in his spare time. Most importantly he loved his family, and loved spending time with them. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Selma Memorial Gardens with the entombment to follow. The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

He is survived by his wife of eleven and a half years Mrs. Brenda Watkins Neves, children, Jack Neves III of FL, Kimberly N. Koenig  (Eric) of GA, Jennifer N. Hamilton of CA, stepsons, Dante A. Cantu (Kathy) of NY, Chris. Ward (Melissa) of Selma, grandchildren; Kristin Harris, Jonathan Corey Nall, Troy Robert Mathis, Julie N. Neves, Kristi N. Neves, great-grandchildren, Riley Harris, Peyton Harris, brothers, Joseph A. Neves of WA, sister, Beverly A. Shepard of CA, step-grandchildren, Leah Ward, Amber Berlind (Griffin Berlind) and very special friend Hannah Underwood of Raleigh.
