John B. Crocker, 78, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, at WakeMed, surrounded by loving family. He was born in Johnston County to the late William Wade and Flora Stancil Crocker. Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Stallings Crocker; and his brothers, Billy Crocker and Brad Crocker.

John worked for Westinghouse in Raleigh, North Carolina, for nearly 40 years. He started as a tool and die maker, was the best supervisor they ever had and retired as facilities manager. John was a very hard-working man and cared for his coworkers like family. He was a loving father and set a great example of what a man should be. His integrity was unquestionable. He enjoyed saltwater fishing and his yearly fishing trip with friends. He was an excellent mechanic and could repair anything that he put his hands on. He was a great help to those around him, be it a neighbor or a stranger. He loved his family deeply and could be found praying for them at bedtime nightly.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 2:00pm. The family will receive visitors one-hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will follow for family at Yelverton Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Smithfield.

John is survived by his children, Tiffany Crocker Joseph and Zachary Scott Crocker; grandchildren, Michael Dylan Cherry and Jessica Arey; three great-grandchildren, Langley, Emmy, and Tristan; and brother, Bobby Crocker.
