Joan Regan Layton, of Clayton NC passed peacefully on December 24th, 2023 in Clayton, NC. Joan was born in Oswego, NY to the late Charles and Nora Regan.

Joan was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and doting Grandmother. She was patient, kind, and cherished her family above all else. Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of fifty-three years, Daniel Layton, her son Peter (Kimberly) Layton, her daughters Noreen (David) Johns and Kathleen (William) Phuntek, her grandchildren Haylee Phuntek, Emilee Phuntek, Joshua Layton, Alyssa Johns, Matthew Phuntek, and Andy Johns.

Joan is also survived by her brothers James (Carol) Regan, Dennis (Patsy) Regan, her sisters Anne Familo and Kathy (Hank) Kolek.

In Joan's earlier years, she dedicated herself to being a stay-at-home Mom, providing unwavering love and support to her family. Joan enjoyed family get togethers and connecting with her sisters and family as often as she could.

Joan was very proud of her Irish Heritage and enjoyed sharing all aspects of it with her entire family. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, where she found solace and strength in her faith.

Services will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church, Clayton, NC on January 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
