Jo Ann Carol Hodge, age 76, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born on December 2, 1946 in Wilson County, she was a daughter to the late Hubert William Hodge and Sarah Mae Sigafoos.

Jo Ann was a hard worker who often worked two or three jobs at a time to make ends meet and provide for her two children, Danny and Teresa. She loved the beach, and enjoyed going on frequent beach trips with her children and her sister Laverne.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Creech's Church Cemetery.

Flowers are acceptable and may be sent to her sister Joyce's home at 696 Hodge Rd, Kenly, NC 27542, or donations sent to SECU Hospice House at 426 Hospital Rd, Smithfield, NC 27577.

Jo Ann is survived by her son, Danny Ray Hodge; daughter, Teresa Ann Hodge; brothers, Gary and Robert Hodge; sisters, Laverne Samuels, Joyce Roberson, and Janet Brannon; and one grandson.
