Jerry Wayne Shirley, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at his home. Born on October 6, 1949, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary Shirley.

Jerry found his greatest joy in the simple things in life, especially spending time fishing. Whether casting a line on a quiet morning or sharing stories with family and friends, he appreciated the peace and contentment that came from being outdoors.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Price Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 26½ years, Delores Shirley; daughter, Wendy Bass; stepdaughters, Jennifer Sullivan and Bonnie McCullen; grandchildren, Harrison and Destiny; two great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold Shirley of Saratoga and Ashley Shirley of Wendell; and sister, Deborah Shirley of Clayton.

He will be remembered for his quiet nature, his love of fishing, and the time he treasured with those he loved.
