Kenly – Jerry Felton Cockrell, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, in his home of Kenly. Born, July 29, 1952, in Johnston County, he was a son of the late Percy F. Cockrell and Lila Price Cockrell. Jerry was a member of Center Ridge Presbyterian Church in Kenly. He enjoyed singing bass in the church choir. When he was able, Jerry also enjoyed playing golf and making trips to the beach. He was also an avid animal lover. Jerry will be missed by all his family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Cockrell Family Cemetery in Kenly. Because of the cold weather, friends and family can meet at Center Ridge Church at 2:00 p.m. for a short visit (just around the curve from the Cockrell Cemetery) along Glendale Road before going to the graveside service. Family and friends may pay their respects to Jerry on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.

He is survived by his brother, Jeff Cockrell of Kenly, as well as many cousins, family members and friends.
