Jerry Bland, age 86, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born on February 3, 1937, in Harris County, Texas, he was a son to the late Clarrence Hurvey and Katherine Cryar.

Jerry was one of 5 children. He proudly served in The United States Army in his younger years. Jerry loved animals, especially his beloved chihuahua Cricket.

Jerry's ashes will be laid to rest next to his loving wife Virginia Bland of 25 years at a later date.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Jerry is preceded in death by his 4 siblings, twin brother Jack Bland, brother, John Bland, and sisters Cathy and Sue Bland.

Jerry is survived by numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in law from the Edwards family, numerous nieces and nephews, his best friend, Jose Lomeli and friend, Elaine W. Huffman.
