Princeton – Irma Jean "Jeannie" Mickow Thorpe, age 60, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023 in UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro. Born December 15, 1963 in Wayne County she was the daughter of Maria Mickow of Selma and the late Kenneth George Mickow. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brett Wallace Thorpe. Jeannie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Smithfield.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Smithfield. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.Surviving are her sons, Christopher Thorpe and wife Angela of Pine Level and Brandon Thorpe of Sanford; mother, Maria Mickow and partner Tom Saunders of Selma; partner, James Chris Stallings of Princeton; and grandchildren, Chandler Marlow, Braedon Thorpe, Elizabeth Thorpe, Sophie Thorpe, Olivia Thorpe and Emma Thorpe.
