Smithfield – Wilma Jean Cole Withrow, age 80, passed away peacefully Sunday May 5, 2024 at her son's home in Smithfield. She was born on March 1, 1944 to the late Hudson Cole and Maude Ethel Williamson Cole. In addition to her father and mother, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Jarrell David "Jerry" Withrow; daughter, Angela McCoury; brothers, Homer Cole, Herbert Cole, Lowell Cole and Jimmy Cole; sisters, Cleadie Mills, Alta Eagle, Emma Mills, Doris Favio and Geneda Gray.

The family will receive visitors at Stones Creek Advent Christian Church on Saturday May 11, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A memorial service will follow the visitation in the church at 2:00 PM.

Jean is survived by her son, David Withrow, and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Hannah Walker and husband Matt, Jenny Church, Cole Withrow and wife Brittany, Jon Church; great grandchildren, Bennett Emory Walker, Avie Joan Walker; brother, Farris Cole, and wife Levina; sister, Marie Cole Jordan; sister-in-law, Beverly Withrow; many nieces and nephews.

Jean worked as an administrative assistant for Dr. Lyndon Jordan from 1974 to 2000 and then Dr. Maria-Luise Zaldivar from 2000 to 2006.
