Princeton – James Norman Braswell, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on Monday August 7, 2023. He was born in Johnston County on January 5, 1938 to the late William Grover Braswell and Thelma Barber Braswell. In addition to his father and mother, he is also preceded in death by sisters, Carolyn Jean Braswell and Magdalene Braswell.

The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Friday August 11, 2023 from 1 PM to 2 PM. A funeral service will follow the visitation on Friday at 2 PM. Burial will follow the service in Pearce Family Cemetery.

Mr. Braswell is survived by wife of 59 years, Josephine Creech Braswell of the home; sons, James R. Braswell and wife Tammie Wynn of Smithfield, William Jamie Braswell and wife Sandra of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Arlene Cook and husband Danny of Princeton; grandchildren, Jessica Reynolds, Rebecca Flores, Rachel Braswell, Alison Braswell, Jasper Cook, Preston Braswell, Abbie Braswell; great grandchildren, Everleigh Reynolds Ezekiel Reyonlds, Ezra Reynolds, Callie Jackson, Judah-Ray Braswell, Emilia Flores, Gracianna Braswell.

Mr. Braswell was a member and deacon at Pine Level Pentecostal Holiness Church. He worked for the Department of Transportation for 30 plus years.
