PINE LEVEL - James Thomas "J.T." Medlin, age 72, died Monday morning at his home. Born June 27, 1936 in Johnston County to the late William Henry and Annie Lillian Aycock Medlin he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Oliver Medlin on July 15, 1995. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Luther Medlin, Dixon Medlin, Charlie Medlin and Harvie Medlin and four sisters, Hazel Rich, Mozelle Medlin, Ruby Leigh Medlin and Ann Tedder. J.T. was a US Army veteran and a member of the Parrish Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the Rev. Harold Medlin officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Aycock Family Cemetery.Surviving are his son, Andy Medlin and wife, LaVonne of Selma; brothers, Tony Medlin of Princeton and Elbert Medlin of Selma; sisters, Ethel Worley of Princeton and Adell Sauls of Goldsboro.The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Wednesday just prior to the service.In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to help offset J.T.'s medical expenses.
