PRINCETON - James David "Pete" Edwards, age 72, died Saturday evening at his home. Born November 19, 1937 in Johnston County to the late W. B. "Bud" and Thelma Tyner Edwards he was preceded in death by a son, Keith Dwayne Edwards in 2003. He was a member of Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church for 38 years, Selma Masonic Lodge # 320 and the Moccasin Creek Board. He was a former member of the Eastern Star # 209 in Selma, former Sunday school teacher, church trustee and Boys Club counselor.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the Rev. Vance Harrell and the Rev. Marcus Riggs officiating. Burial, with Masonic Rites, will follow in the Bizzell Grove Memorial Gardens.Surviving are his wife, Leta Goulde Narron Edwards, sons, James David Edwards, Jr. and wife Jenny of Selma and Dwight L. Edwards and wife Marty of Princeton; daughter, Desire? Elaine Edwards and husband George Campion of Princeton; brother, Walter Ralph Edwards of Selma; sister, Shirley Ponder of Louisburg and grandchildren, Cassandra Edwards, Danielle Edwards, Summer Honeycutt, Ruskin Edwards and Seth Edwards.The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the SECU Hospice House, c/o Johnson Memorial Hospital Foundation, PO Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577.
