PRINCETON – Iris Snipes Allen, age 77, died peacefully in the SECU Hospice House on March 29, 2025, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side.  She was born November 12, 1947 in Wilson, NC to the late James Edward Snipes and Winnie Jean Narron Snipes Gay.  In her working years, she was a medical transcriptionist.  She loved to cook for her family, especially Sunday dinners. One of her favorite hobbies was singing Karaoke with her granddaughters.  They were very special to her and she spent as much time as she could with them.  Supporting them in every way possible.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at Parrish Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating.

Surviving are her son, Jamison Scott "Jamey" Snipes and his wife Shannon of Smithfield; granddaughters, Kayla Snipes Morgan and her husband Austin and Gracie Lynn Snipes and her boyfriend Martin Parrish; brother, Greg Gay and his wife Jamie of Elm City; sisters, Janet Martin and her husband Alan and Sharon Gay all of Wilson.
