Hubert Fonzo Daughtry, age 85, of Smithfield passed away on September 24, 2020 at Johnston Health.  Born on June 12, 1935, he was the son of the late Fonzo and Vera Irene Worrells Daughtry.  In addition to his parents, Hubert was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Faircloth Daughtry, a daughter, Joan Kaye Daughtry Byrd, and six siblings.  Mr. Daughtry served in the US Army from 1953 – 1956 during the Korean War and retired from the NC Forestry Service after 31 ½ years of service.  He was a lifetime member of Sardis Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and other church Committees.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 28 at 4:00 pm in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  The public may pay their respects and sign the register at Parrish Funeral Home on Sunday from 12-4 and Monday from 8 – 2.

Surviving are his daughters, Deborah Daughtry Aumen (Hugo Mark), Connie Daughtry Grantham, grandchildren, Kelly Aumen Radford (Kenneth), Holly Aumen (John Edmundson), Corey Aumen, Justin Byrd, Jamie Grantham Hargis (Wade) and Jason Grantham (Jaclyn); and eight great grandchildren.
