Hilda Ricks Sullivan of Selma, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, September 26th at the age of 85. She was born on April 25, 1939, in Clinton, NC, then moved to Selma, NC where she grew up with her three sisters and brother, living for a number of years in the family-owned Ricks Hotel. Her father nicknamed her "Baby Duck".

Hilda graduated from Selma High School in 1957 where she was voted "Best Looking" and also won the title Miss Pine Level.

She worked in many roles including airline stewardess, property manager, Hallmark store owner, and music promoter for her beloved late husband Vern Sullivan.

She was actively involved in Selma Baptist Church and truly loved the Lord and her church family. She is remembered as being a master decorator for holidays and events.

She is preceded in death by her parents Leon Thurston Ricks, Sr. and Letha Honeycutt Ricks and by her sister Patricia Rose Byrd.

She is survived by her sons John G. Christian, IV, David Webb Christian, and William Blake Christian, and her stepson, Vern Sullivan, Jr. and by her sisters Josephine Talton and Kaye Strickland, and brother Rick Ricks.

The family would like to thank Hilda's nieces Victoria Lucas and Angela Williams for the loving care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.

The Family is planning a private service for family to celebrate Hilda's life.
